As a Probationary Firefighter, you will participate in rigorous training, respond to emergency incidents, and support firefighting operations under the supervision of experienced personnel. Duties
- Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other incident calls to provide immediate assistance.
- Assist in fire suppression activities using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS), including CPR and vital signs assessment, to stabilize patients until advanced help arrives.
- Conduct safety inspections of buildings and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Operate firefighting apparatus, vehicles, and mechanical tools safely and efficiently during emergency responses.
- Support training exercises by practicing rescue techniques, hose handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote fire safety awareness.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and vital signs assessment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and performing strenuous tasks in challenging environments.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively during emergencies.
