Probationary Firefighter

Duties

• Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other incident calls to provide immediate assistance.
• Assist in fire suppression activities using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS), including CPR and vital signs assessment, to stabilize patients until advanced help arrives.
• Conduct safety inspections of buildings and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Operate firefighting apparatus, vehicles, and mechanical tools safely and efficiently during emergency responses.
• Support training exercises by practicing rescue techniques, hose handling, and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in community outreach programs to promote fire safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and vital signs assessment.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely.
• Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and performing strenuous tasks in challenging environments.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively during emergencies.

Pay: From $39,843.49 per year
