Chemours is seeking a Process Control Technician to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be available at the Belle plant located in Belle, WV .

This position is a key role in the Belle Plant Manufacturing Technology team. We are seeking an experienced Process Control Technician to provide hardware and software technical support for the DCS, PLC, and other process control systems in production and utility units of the site.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Monitor, implement and maintain DCS and PLC Systems, and associated infrastructure, including:

    • Logic Configuration

    • Console Graphic and Database Configuration

    • Data Structure Configuration

    • Leading upgrades and renewal efforts to ensure ongoing reliability

    • Preventative, Predictive Maintenance and Life-Cycle Management

  • Provide day to day trouble-shooting support of process automation systems to operations

  • Troubleshoot and maintain operator stations / HMIs, including software, hardware, and performance monitoring.

  • Manage Networking Environment and IT Connections to the Process Control Systems

  • Monitor Programs for Alarm Management tracking and improvements

  • Monitor Process Historian systems for performance and reliability

  • Support continuous improvements and changes to existing process control systems, as needed in conjunction with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams

  • Work in full compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards

  • Participate in safety reviews, audits, and Management of Change (MOC) processes

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years’ experience with instrument/electrical and control system applications or relevant Military experience.

  • Excellent DCS/PLC troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across functions (Operations, Technical, Engineering, Maintenance).

  • Strong capability / experience reading and understanding drawings - single line, power, P&ID, Configuration logic, controls schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency with standard industrial control system software, diagnostic tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit :

  • A Technical Diploma or greater is preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience supporting process control systems in a Chemical Plant PSM‑regulated environment.

  • Familiarity with multiple variations of DCS/PLC software logic.

  • Experience with installing and managing IT Networks, Servers, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear and work in standard personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toe boots as required by plant conditions.

  • Ability to climb several flights of stairs, including ascent and descent of metal grating stair towers common in chemical processing areas.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of tools, equipment, or components as needed during maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

$29.40 - $45.94

Annual Bonus Target:

4%
