Process Engineer / Distillation

We are looking for an experienced Distillation / Process Engineer to join our biofuels production facility in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and troubleshooting our distillation and separation systems, ensuring stable operation, product quality, and maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and optimize distillation columns and associated systems

Control key parameters such as temperature profiles, reflux ratio, pressure, and feed conditions

Troubleshoot operational issues such as purity deviations, flooding, weeping, pressure instability, or energy inefficiency

Improve separation efficiency and reduce energy consumption

Support startup, shutdown, and commissioning activities

Work closely with plant operators and maintenance teams

Analyze process data and recommend improvements for yield and quality

Ensure safe and reliable operation of all distillation and recovery units (methanol, glycerin, etc.)

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

Strong hands-on experience with distillation / separation systems (refinery, petrochemical, biofuels, or chemical plant)

Good understanding of thermodynamics, mass transfer, and vapor-liquid equilibrium

Experience in troubleshooting industrial distillation columns

Ability to read and interpret PFDs and P&IDs

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience with biofuel or transesterification processes is an advantage

Willingness to work in a plant environment

Preferred Experience

Biofuel plant or chemical refinery experience

Methanol recovery and glycerin purification systems

Continuous distillation or fractionation units

Startup and commissioning experience
