Procurement Agent I

Summary:

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking a customer service-oriented Procurement Agent to work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers to ensure that the company has the resources it needs to operate efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze purchasing trends and patterns to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements, as well as identify, negotiate, and execute procurement initiatives.
  • Manage RFPs, RFQs, and bids for procurement projects across applicable sublocations and states.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  • Prepare sourcing events, qualify vendors, and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, maintain accurate purchasing record documentation, expedite delivery, ensure vendors are appropriately set up before issuing purchase order.
  • Partner with vendors and other teams to ensure alignment of planning, forecasting, budgeting, contracts, supplier management, invoicing and resolve and problems or discrepancies.
  • Participate regularly in procurement related training and provide support to operations.
  • Gather real-time customer feedback to ensure the team is reducing costs and adding value to operations.
  • Support procurement of both capital and operating budget items, when assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or other relevant industry certification a plus.
  • Previous procurement experience preferred and preferably in the agriculture industry.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and contract practices, legal applications, and financial analysis including familiarity with federal and state procurement regulations.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement using Six Sigma or similar quality assurance disciplines.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with or ability to learn technical systems and tools.
  • Strong demonstrated interpersonal, troubleshooting, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime to support critical business needs and travel up to 25% to various office/farm locations, both domestic and internationally.
