Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Procurement cum Storekeeper with a strong background in joinery or woodworking. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, tools, and consumables, while also overseeing inventory and store operations to ensure smooth production and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:Procurement Duties:
- Source and procure joinery-related materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, hardware, laminates, veneers, adhesives, etc.)
- Obtain quotations and negotiate with vendors for best pricing and quality.
- Raise purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Coordinate with the production and project teams to forecast material requirements.
- Maintain a database of approved suppliers and evaluate vendor performance.
- Handle local and international sourcing when required.
Storekeeping Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and tools.
- Properly store and label materials according to type and usage.
- Issue materials to production teams based on material request forms (MRFs).
- Maintain accurate inventory records (manual or ERP system).
- Conduct regular stock audits and update inventory reports.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and material preservation.
- Monitor the movement of tools and consumables.
- Dispose of or report damaged or expired materials.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a joinery, carpentry, or fit-out company.
- Knowledge of joinery materials, fittings, and consumables.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in inventory software (e.g., ERP, Excel, or other store management tools).
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards in a warehouse/store.
- Valid driving license (if required for sourcing tasks).
