Procurement Engineer - Process And Equipment

Overview of the role: - Controlling and validating technical specifications and project documentation - Acting as an internal technical expert and consultant for complex equipment and process-related questions Key Responsibilities: 1. Reverse Engineering & Technical Analysis - Reverse engineering of industrial equipment and process solutions based on: existing installations, OEM documentation and incomplete or legacy technical data. - Reconstruction and validation of process logic, equipment configuration and operating parameters and constraints. - Identification of design gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities. 2. Technical Specifications & Design Control - Review, verification, and control of technical specifications (TS), datasheets and equipment lists, PFDs and P&IDs and layout and equipment arrangement concepts. - Ensuring consistency between process requirements, equipment capabilities and safety and operational constraints. - Technical clarification and alignment with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 3. Engineering Calculations & Process Support - Execution and validation of mass and energy balances, basic process and hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing & selection logic. - Support of equipment selection across key categories - reactors, vessels, heat exchangers, separation equipment (filters, centrifuges), pumps, compressors, and auxiliary systems. - Use of engineering tools and simulations where required (e.g. Aspen HYSYS or equivalents). 4. Technical Consulting & Expert Support - Acting as an internal technical reference point for: procurement teams, sales and presales and project managers. - Participation in technical discussions with clients and EPC partners. - Review and validation of technical solutions proposed by suppliers. - Support in resolving complex or non-standard engineering cases. 5. Technical-Commercial Support - Contribution to the technical part of technical-commercial proposals: validation of technical scope, risk and feasibility assessment and support of CAPEX-level estimates from an engineering standpoint. - Identification of technical risks affecting cost, schedule, and operability.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in engineering | Related technical field - 2 to 3 years of experience in an engineering role such as design engineer, process engineer, project engineer or EPC engineering specialist.
