Core responsibilities
- Vendor and contract management: Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, maintain strong vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Strategic procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies, set budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and consolidation.
- Purchasing and logistics: Process purchase requests, create purchase orders, and manage the procurement lifecycle for assets like IT equipment, furniture, and office supplies.
- Financial and compliance oversight: Track and control procurement expenses, ensuring alignment with budgets, and ensure all activities comply with relevant laws and company policies.
- Internal collaboration: Work with other departments to understand their needs and provide procurement guidance.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate procurement and asset inventory records.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like business administration, supply chain management, or a related area is often required.
- Experience: Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or facilities management is typically necessary.
