Role Overview

The Procurement Manager – Green Chilli will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing, planning, and procurement operations for Green Chilli aligned with export sales plans. The role requires strong field coordination, crop planning, price forecasting, and quality management to ensure 100% fill rate and export-grade quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Planning

• Prepare Annual, Monthly, and Weekly procurement plans for Green Chilli in alignment with sales forecasts.
• Ensure commodity-wise planning to meet export commitments.
• Maintain buffer planning to avoid supply disruptions.
• Monitor crop cycles and seasonal availability.

2. Sales & Operations Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Sales Team to align procurement with confirmed orders.
• Work with field sourcing and operations teams to ensure:
• 100% order fill rate
• Required export quality standards
• Timely dispatch and operational efficiency
• Resolve supply gaps proactively.

3. Field Sourcing & Market Intelligence

• Conduct regular field visits to major chilli-growing regions.
• Develop 3-month forward volume projections.
• Track and analyze:
• Price trends
• Crop conditions
• Supply-demand fluctuations
• Build strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, and FPOs.

4. Quality & Process Improvement

• Ensure procurement meets export quality standards.
• Reduce:
• Residue risk
• Rejections
• Operational wastage
• Cost inefficiencies
• Implement process improvements to enhance quality and shelf life.

5. New Commodity Development

• Identify and develop new varieties of Green Chilli suitable for exports.
• Conduct trial sourcing and quality benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Quality & R&D teams for evaluation.

6. Expansion of Sourcing Geography

• Identify and develop new sourcing locations for Green Chilli.
• Evaluate productivity, quality standards, and logistics feasibility.
• Diversify sourcing risk across regions.

Candidate Requirements

• 4–8 years experience in fresh produce procurement (Green Chilli preferred).
• Strong knowledge of chilli-growing belts and seasonality.
• Experience in export procurement preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Willingness for frequent field travel.
• Ability to forecast volumes and analyze price trends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
