Job Summary
The Procurement In-Charge is responsible for managing all overseas and local procurement activities related to gift and accessory products. This role requires deep market knowledge, strong supplier networks, accurate cost control, and professional negotiation skills. The position focuses on sourcing materials and finished products for a gifts business, managing international shipping and clearance, and supervising one purchase mandoob to ensure smooth and timely procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities1. Overseas Procurement
- Source products and raw materials from China, India, and Turkey through online procurement channels only.
- Maintain an updated and detailed database of overseas suppliers for:
- Wood products
- Plastic products
- Mubkhar (incense burners)
- Gift items, accessories, and related materials
- Identify reliable manufacturers and suppliers with competitive pricing and consistent quality.
- Conduct professional price negotiations to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms.
- Ensure compliance with product specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules.
2. Local Procurement (Kuwait)
- Source products and materials from local Kuwaiti suppliers through online communication and ordering.
- Maintain a strong network of local suppliers related to gifts, accessories, packaging, and raw materials.
- Compare local vs overseas sourcing options to ensure best value and fastest availability when required.
3. Shipping & Logistics Management
- Identify and deal with reliable shipping companies that can ship goods from:
- China to Kuwait
- India to Kuwait
- Turkey to Kuwait
- Coordinate shipping methods (sea or air) based on cost, urgency, and volume.
- Monitor shipment timelines and ensure on-time delivery to the warehouse.
4. Customs Clearance & Documentation
- Handle or coordinate customs clearance processes for all imported shipments.
- Ensure all required documents are complete and accurate (invoices, packing lists, certificates, etc.).
- Work closely with clearance agents to avoid delays, penalties, or additional costs.
5. Cost Control & Data Accuracy
- Maintain highly accurate procurement data, including:
- Product cost
- Shipping cost
- Clearance cost
- Total landed cost
- Analyze costs regularly and propose cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all purchases align with approved budgets and cost targets.
- Prepare clear procurement cost reports for management review.
6. Team & Operations Coordination
- Supervise and manage one Purchase Mandoob, ensuring:
- Proper task execution
- Timely follow-ups
- Accurate documentation
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Warehouse, and Product teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6 to 8 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in gifts, accessories, or retail-related products.
- Strong experience in overseas procurement (China, India, Turkey).
- Solid knowledge of local Kuwaiti suppliers and markets.
- Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and shipping companies.
- Hands-on experience with international shipping and customs clearance.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
