The successful Procurement & Logistics Specialist conducts & oversees the, purchasing, distribution, management, and accounting of project inventory in support of Active Security’s programs. Project inventory includes hardware, software, licenses, SLA’s, and other miscellaneous materials, equipment, and professional services. This position serves as the lead for issuance of purchase orders and receipt of goods to & from vendors and service providers in support of Active Security’s operations.
The Procurement & Logistics Specialist works directly with project/program managers to develop an overall procurement plan for each project that enables timely execution of installation milestones while supporting cash-flow and profitability objectives. This position has accountability for the quality and accuracy of purchase orders and material deliveries to project or company locations. Further, the Procurement & Logistics Specialist will support Business Development efforts by ensuring accurate up to date Bill-of-Materials pricing, technical specifications, and the impact of procurement planning on specific projects’ scopes of work. This support function may include attending site surveys, data calls, and performing in-depth reviews of solicitation documents, and communicating regularly with vendors.
The Procurement & Logistics Specialist continually develops and improves company purchasing and inventory distribution processes, vendor communication and status reporting, tools, documentation, and organization methodologies, and contributes to facilities & warehouse management, business development, and operational excellence in all aspects.

Expected travel: No regular travel is required however business trips such as vendor qualification visits, project tours, and educational experiences may be necessary on occasion.
Remote or On-site: On site at Active Security's Northern Virginia facility, Sterling, VA.
