ROLE: POCUREMENT MANAGER
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: ANY DEGREE
EXPERIENCE: ATLEAST 10 YEARS IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Procurement Planning
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineering teams to understand the material and equipment requirements for the hospital project.
- Prepare procurement schedules in line with the project timeline.
- Forecast demand and manage budgets accordingly.
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for construction materials, hospital-specific infrastructure items (e.g., medical-grade doors, flooring, HVAC), and equipment.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Maintain healthy vendor relationships and evaluate performance.
3. Purchase Order Management
- Issue purchase orders (POs) based on approved requisitions and as per the project budget.
- Ensure accuracy in quantities, specifications, and pricing.
- Coordinate with accounts for timely payments.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Ensure procurement within allocated budgets.
- Implement cost-saving measures through negotiation and alternative sourcing.
- Track and report cost variances, if any.
5. Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials to the site.
- Monitor lead times and ensure on-time delivery to avoid project delays.
- Resolve logistics issues and ensure proper documentation for inbound goods.
6. Quality Assurance
- Ensure materials meet required specifications and standards.
- Work with QA/QC teams to handle non-compliance or defective items.
- Maintain documentation for quality checks and certifications.
7. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and legal compliance.
- Maintain records of purchase orders, vendor agreements, invoices, etc.
- Assist in audits and ensure traceability of transactions.
8. Coordination with Internal Teams
- Liaise with site engineers, architects, finance, and legal teams.
- Provide regular updates on procurement status and address challenges proactively.
- Support in project progress meetings by providing procurement inputs.
9. Market Analysis & Sourcing Intelligence
- Stay updated on market trends, price fluctuations, and new suppliers.
- Source alternative products or vendors in case of supply disruptions.
10. ERP & Reporting
- Use ERP systems to manage procurement workflows.
- Generate reports on purchase orders, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
