Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the procurement process, primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of goods and services for the Ole Smoky Distillery Operations departments.
Role and Responsibilities
- Evaluate spending operations and look for ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Collaborate with all operational departments to ensure the efficient flow of goods affecting production (marketing, planning, warehouse, transportation and operations)
- Help determine, implement and maintain key vendor KPIs.
- Analyze, optimize and oversee procurement procedures to ensure we are purchasing at the right cost.
- Assess vendor operations according to quality benchmarks and standards, and determine when to onboard new suppliers as well as opportunities to optimize the supply base.
- Help with designing and implementation of necessary supply chain optimization projects
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities with new and existing vendors.
- Perform risk management exercises for existing supply contracts and agreements, while also establishing new agreements as necessary.
- Handle negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms for Ole Smoky.
- Manage direct, as well as indirect expenses, to ensure costs are low and managed correctly.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Purchasing team.
- Provide regular updates on Supply Chain activities to leadership, peers and subordinates.
- Perform additional duties regarding Supply Chain as necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Purchase Management, or similar relevant field
- 7 years or more work experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role
- Proven people management skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence across all functions
- Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
- APICS, CPPM or CPP Certified
- Proficient understanding of all levels of the supply chain processes (sourcing, production planning, inventory management, warehouse management, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP/MRP systems (e.g. NetSuite)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Very effective organizational skills in a fast paced, cross functional environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills
- Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of NetSuite
