- Strategy and planning: Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Supplier management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, and build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with existing ones.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms, prices, and delivery schedules to get the best value for the company.
- Process oversight: Oversee the entire procurement process from start to finish, including creating purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Financial management: Manage procurement budgets, conduct cost analyses, monitor spending, and implement measures to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Risk mitigation: Develop and implement risk management procedures to address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Performance monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on spending, savings, and supplier performance.
