Procurement Officer – Medical Supplies
Location: Hurghada / Marsa Alam, Egypt
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Procurement Officer – Medical Supplies to support our healthcare operations in Hurghada. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely availability of high-quality medical supplies, and optimizing cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards in Egypt
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement cycle for medical supplies, consumables, and equipment
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable local and international suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure continuity of supply
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with pharmacy, clinical, and operations teams to forecast demand
- Ensure all procured items meet Egyptian regulatory requirements and healthcare quality standards
- Prepare purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery
- Resolve supply chain issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes
- Collaborate with finance for invoice verification and payment processes
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement of medical supplies (hospital or healthcare setting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the Egyptian healthcare procurement market and suppliers
- Familiarity with MOHP / Egyptian Drug Authority regulations is an asset
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and procurement/ERP systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Fluent in English and Arabic
