Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) by collaborating closely with departmental managers, ensuring timely approvals and signatures in adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing BOQs and the budget to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Making and negotiating supplier contracts ensures clear terms and conditions.
  • Identifying and researching new potential suppliers expands options for sourcing interior fit-out, joinery, and civil materials and services.
  • Advising the Design Department (Interior and Landscaping) on new materials and trends in the market enhances the quality and innovation.
  • Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive rates and align with the budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, ensuring transparency and accountability in procurement processes.
  • Maintaining good relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable prices and terms benefits the company.
  • Procure requested materials, supplies, and services of optimal quality at the most competitive prices, coordinating timely delivery to the designated site.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, ensuring smooth procurement processes.
  • Monitoring ongoing production progress (International and local) of ordered materials ensures timely completion and delivery.
  • Coordinate with project managers and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist in resolving invoice or contract disputes promptly.
  • Handle change order requests efficiently to accommodate project variations.
  • Supporting the design team (Interior and Landscaping) in identifying materials specifications and value engineering options.
  • Supporting the QS team in providing almost 90% of the BOQ pricing and material specification.
  • Supporting the design team for samples required and requested by the client.
  • Making comparisons for each scope of work.
  • Pre-qualifying and evaluating suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Updating vendor list.
  • Making a progress payment application with PM and Supplier justification.
  • Supporting the accounts team to get all required tax invoices, balance, and statement of account from suppliers.
  • Supporting Project Managers and site engineers for material follow-up and sourcing specified or alternative materials.
  • Supporting the design team (Interior and Landscaping) to explain further details to the client for specified materials.
  • Negotiating and squeezing suppliers' or subcontractors' quotations to align with management budget.
  • Finalizing sub-contractor agreements with the subcontractors.
  • Coordinating with 2D for drawing and quantity details.
  • Filling PO, Quotations, Approved BOQ, Approved Contract, Comparisons, and Drawing records in the server.
  • Proactively communicating with suppliers to monitor the delivery status of ordered materials, mitigating potential delays, and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Sourcing suppliers and materials for Mr Karim requirements (International and Local).

Position Objective:

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for initiating and assisting in a wide variety of tasks related to the procurement of materials and services including purchase requisitions, vendor relations, bid summaries, contract execution, interviewing new suppliers, and assisting with audit preparations. The incumbent works closely with internal clients, service providers, and suppliers throughout the procurement process.

Academic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required

A valid UAE driving license

skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, preferably within the UAE.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Highly developed administrative and organizational skills are required.

  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to generate, analyze and interpret complex documents from various sources.
