Interlink Electronics Inc., is seeking to hire a Procurement associate who will also be responsible for shipping and receiving. Interlink is a sensor technology manufacturer. We manufacture gas sensors, modules and instruments as well as force and piezo sensors for HMI applications.

You will be responsible for handling all procurement activities for our sensor products manufactured in our Fremont location as well as supporting some purchasing activities for our other global locations. This includes sourcing and procurement of plastics, PCB and PCBAs, electronic components, electro-mechanical components, and packaging etc. You will be responsible for requesting quotations, generating purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, coordinating with internal teams, including operations, engineering, production, and logistics, and maintaining excellent relationships with our vendors and complete supply chain.

The role also involves managing the shipping process for our sensor products and instruments. Shipping operations encompass domestic, international, and special shipments. This role requires a good understanding of the shipping process and all the necessary processes and tools to ensure customer orders are processed, shipped and delivered to customers in a timely manner. It will require excellent computer skills and the ability to use an ERP system and associated shipping software. You will work closely with the operations team including production planning and control as well as sales and finance. You will be required to accurately receive orders for all materials, components and RMAs into the system. In addition, you will ensure that all materials are placed in the correct inventory locations and that inventory cycle counts are performed and accurate. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and good teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the complete procurement and supply chain workflow from vendor selection to RFQ to purchase order release and receipt for all commodities
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers, distributors and manufacturers using ERP system
  • Ensure that orders received are accurate and follow up with vendors to resolve issues
  • Work closely with relevant departments to ensure products purchased are to required specification and in line with the needs of the company
  • Generate RFQ and RFP for commodities to multiple vendors to leverage lowest price and achieve good margins
  • Consolidate purchasing and build strong partnerships with vendors through regular follow up, identifying potential future cost down opportunities
  • Handle the complete shipping process for products including new sales RMA, calibration and service orders originating from our Fremont facility
  • Generate shipping documentation in a timely manner for both domestic and international shipments which may include some or all of the following; labels, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, bill of lading, shippers letter of instruction etc.
  • Ensure all information is accurate and correct and resolve any issues with orders, documentation or information which could impact shipments or our internal systems
  • Monitor shipping costs and rate-shop as needed to provide cost savings to our customers
  • Schedule carrier pick-ups when required
  • Provide shipping costs to customer service when requested
  • Provide advance shipping notifications when required
  • Provide completed shipping documentation to finance team for invoicing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with shipments raised by carriers or customers
  • Manage the shipping process to ensure customers expectations are met
  • Process non-standard shipments for any items requested to be shipped (documents, engineering samples, or other special shipments)
  • Document and optimize process and workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 5 years supply chain/procurement/shipping experience
  • Must have ERP experience (preferably Exact – Macola)
  • Preferred experience working in procurement/shipping/receiving in electronics manufacturing
  • Understanding of logistics, import and export beneficial
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly by phone and email
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and calm demeanor when dealing with vendors and suppliers
  • Adaptability and flexibility to learn quickly in a fast-paced, environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
