Procurement Specialist

Eastern Quality Foods has an opportunity available for a Seafood Specialist reporting to the Director of Operations of our Atlanta Seafood Division.

Eastern’s Atlanta Seafood Division specializes in the sale of imported frozen seafood to foodservice distributors throughout the mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States. We are looking for a Seafood Specialist to leverage his or her knowledge in the seafood industry to support the procurement activities for the Director of Operations, maintain and develop supplier relationships, and handle internal sales for designated existing account relationships. Ideal candidates will have an understanding of seafood sourcing and market trends along with industry relationships. This position is an in-office position located in Atlanta, GA.

Position Overview:

• Assist the Director of Operations in procuring seafood from overseas and managing direct supplier relationships
• Track and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, pricing and availability
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, new markets and competitive pricing
• Manage existing customer accounts with an emphasis on building strong client relationships
• Develop new business opportunities in food service and wholesale distribution sectors, including potential expansion into other geographic markets
• Provide company representation at customer food shows

Position Qualifications:

• Previous procurement experience preferably in the seafood or food industry.
• Experience and general understanding of seafood products, pricing, and market trends
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to build lasting customer relationships
• Proactive, growth-driven mindset with a focus on expanding sales opportunities
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Willingness to travel and engage directly with key food service clients

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
