Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and inventory requirements. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of procurement experience in the manufacturing sector, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support production and cost-efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Sourcing
- Source, evaluate, and procure raw materials, components, and services required for manufacturing operations.
- Request and review quotations, compare vendor proposals, and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Maintain and update approved supplier lists.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and high product quality.
- Monitor supplier performance (delivery timelines, quality, compliance) and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost savings.
Inventory & Production Support
- Collaborate closely with production, planning, and warehouse teams to forecast material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock availability to prevent line stoppages.
- Identify risks of material shortages and implement contingency plans.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure purchasing processes comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Support audits and reporting requirements related to procurement activities.
Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement operations.
- Contribute to supplier evaluation and development programs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of procurement experience in the manufacturing industry (automotive, electronics, machinery, consumer goods, etc.).
- Solid understanding of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
