Procurement Strategy Lead
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization’s procurement strategy, including category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier segmentation.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives end-to-end: RFI/RFQ/RFP design, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and onboarding.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, value creation and total-cost-of-ownership improvements across priority categories.
- Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships and supplier performance frameworks (KPIs, SLAs, business reviews).
- Implement procurement governance, policies, and controls to ensure compliance, ethical sourcing and contract lifecycle management.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with stakeholders to understand demand, forecast needs, and embed procurement inputs into planning.
- Manage procurement risk (supply continuity, single-supplier dependency, geopolitical, compliance) and build mitigation plans.
- Lead or coach a small team of procurement professionals, providing mentorship, capability-building and performance management.
- Use data and procurement systems (ERP, e-Sourcing, CLM, spend analytics) to measure performance, spot opportunities and report to senior leadership.
- Lead procurement transformation projects (process standardization, digital tools, supplier consolidation) as required.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field; master’s preferred.
- 6–12 years’ relevant procurement experience with a minimum of 2–4 years in strategic sourcing or leadership roles (adjust to level).
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, and delivering measurable savings or value.
- Strong commercial, analytical and contract management skills; comfortable with financial metrics and TCO analyses.
- Experience with procurement systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite), e-sourcing tools and spend analytics.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Industry experience preferred (choose as relevant: oil & gas, construction, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, healthcare, or retail).
- Professional certification a plus (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CPP).

Pay: QAR38.00 - QAR112.00 per hour
