JOB SUMMARY: The Procurement Technician is responsible for the operation, scheduling, and oversight of the Tribe's roll off service program, including two 14-yard bins, two 20-yard bins, and a trailer with dumping capabilities. This position ensures that the Tribe's maintenance department, construction company, EPA-GAP program, and partner tribal organizations have efficient, reliable, and cost-effective waste management services. The Procurement Technician plays a key role in supporting tribal operations, local tribal programs, and ensuring the long-term function of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily Operations & Scheduling
    • Manage pickup, delivery, and dumping of 14-yard and 20-yard bins.
    • Schedule service routes between Carnegie, Weatherford, Anadarko, and Lawton, coordinating an average of four dumps per week.
    • Ensure timely service for tribal departments, events, and community programs.
  • Maintenance & Safety
    • Inspect and maintain bins, trailer, and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
    • Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and wear-and-tear to control costs.
    • Follow all safety regulations related to hauling and dumping solid waste.
  • Management & Reporting
    • Track fuel usage and dumping fees (average $75 per dump) to ensure accurate budgeting.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly service reports for the Director, including mileage, dumps, and costs.
    • Monitor cost savings and revenue generated from MO Us and rentals.
  • Program Support & Coordination
    • Coordinate roll off service needs for the Tribal Maintenance Department, Construction Company, and
    • EPA-GAP program.
    • Serve as point of contact for local Tribal programs utilizing roll off services.
    • Provide support for tribal events such as powwows, community clean-ups, and cultural gatherings
    • requiring waste management.
  • Customer Service
    • Communicate with internal departments, outside tribal partners, and community members regarding service needs.
    • Ensure reliable and professional delivery and pick-up of bins.
    • Promote rental opportunities for tribal programs, events, and local partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's or technical training in logistics, operations, or environmental services preferred.
  • Experience in waste management, trucking/hauling, or equipment operations are strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to schedule and complete multiple weekly routes.
  • Ability to prepare reports, track costs
  • Excellent communication skills for interdepartmental and intertribal coordination.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Oklahoma Commercial driver's license (CDL) with clean driving record; insurable under tribal vehicle policy
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Knowledge of safety standards for hauling, dumping, and handling of waste.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Regularly operates trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and handle roll off bin covers, chains, and equipment.
  • Exposure to dust, debris, and waste materials during service operations.
  • Requires driving across Southwest Oklahoma weekly (Carnegie, Weatherford, Anadarko, Lawton, and surrounding areas.)
  • Primarily field based with some office reporting responsibilities.
