ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The primary responsibilities and duties of the Produce Associate are, but not limited to:

Must be punctual and work as scheduled and assist with all opening and closing procedures with fellow team members.

Provide premier customer service, including welcoming and responding to questions.

Accept deliveries, check against invoices and prepare produce for display.

Perform routine price changes and update price tags.
-
Hang current sale signs and remove those that are out of date
-
Provide information to customers on the varieties of produce and their qualities.
-
Where applicable order products within the parameters set by the PL.
-
Assist in maintaining produce department inventory at levels set by the Store Manager (“SM”) and the PL.
-
Regularly check produce, trimming, cleaning and marking down as necessary.
-
Seek out and assist customers to provide product information assistance when not busy with other customers.

Ensure produce department remains properly faced and fronted throughout the day.

Rotate produce regularly - F.I.F.O.

Any other duties as assigned by the GDM, PL or manager in charge.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (“GED”).
Experience:
-
Minimum one year’s experience in grocery, frozen food, dairy and produce retail, preferably in the organic and natural foods industry.

Operating a cash register and processing payments.
Knowledge:

Strong working knowledge of the organic and natural food industry.
Skills & Abilities:

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills enabling effective interaction and problem resolution with co-workers, customers and vendors.

Attention to detail.

Talent for visually pleasing set up and presentation.
