Produce Category Manager

Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting a dynamic full-time Produce Category Manager. Candidates must have a true passion for produce items along with 3+ years of experience as a category manager. The primary purpose of the Produce Category Manager is to educate our chefs, customers, & sales team about the produce selection we have here at Julius Silvert.

Responsibilities:

• Educate customers with the sales team about the produce items available
• Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, and sample
• Maintain the highest level of standards in product preparation
• Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
• Help to ensure superior product presentation within the warehouse
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Communicate any customer special requests to management
• Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
• Additional duties as assigned

• 3+ years of experience buying and managing all facets of the produce category
• Ability to communicate with customers, ownership, and employees
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to incrementally impact sales in a positive manner
• Proficiency in Customer Service
• Ability to multi-task and perform within a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
• Ability to grow the category and maximize sales and gross profit
• Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
