Produce Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our grocery store team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the quality and freshness of our produce section, ensuring that all products are well-stocked, organized, and presented attractively to enhance the shopping experience. The Produce Clerk will also engage with customers, providing assistance and information about various fruits and vegetables.

Duties

• Stock and rotate produce items to ensure freshness and quality.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory control processes.
• Utilize cash registers for customer transactions, ensuring accuracy in sales.
• Operate RF scanners for efficient tracking of inventory.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department.
• Assist customers with inquiries about products, offering recommendations as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
• Use forklifts and pallet jacks safely for moving heavy items when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory control processes and retail math skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
• Experience operating cash registers and RF scanners is a plus.
• Capability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification may be required).
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on product presentation.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
