Produce Clerk

A Produce Clerk's duties are performed primarily in the sales, prep and back receiving area. A Produce Clerk may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes eye-hand coordination, repetitive arm and hand movements, safe use of knives along with frequent interaction with customers and other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Providing excellent customer service, including greeting customers and responding to questions
• Filling and rotating produce cases and dry tables
• Enthusiastically selling product by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions
• Breaking down pallets, separating produce for sales floor, cooler and/or back room prep area
• Processing and/or wrapping produce items prior to filling cases and dry tables
• Verifying ads, hanging current sale signs, and removing out-of-date signs
• Contribute to controlling freshness and product quality
• Assisting in other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs, and operate equipment such as scales, balers, etc.
• Excellent customer service, communication and math skills
• Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
• A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions and complaints
• Able to read, write and do simple math problems. Must be able to interpret and understand the English language.
• The employee must frequently walk, talk or hear, and reach with the hands and arms; occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel

Part-time position, day shift. Weekend availability a must.
