Produce Stocker

Produce Steward – Full Time

Objective:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties including the following: ensure garden displays and department stock is replenished, rotated, and culled each shift. Monitor product shrinkage and dispose of properly. Answer customer questions and provide recommendations per customer diet specifications. Essential Functions:

- Efficiently stock garden produce and maintain garden displays

- Rotate and cull garden items, ensuring freshness of produce products

- Properly handle garden items and equipment, following food and safety guidelines

- Establish a basic understanding of general store products, departments, and essential items

- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations

- Ensure proper temperature of refrigerated products and monitor watering of produce items

- Participate in inventory preparation

- Perform miscellaneous job-related/Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

The employee must have the ability to: speak and hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with their hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods where wet and dry processes are used, wear protective footwear, wear personal protective equipment (including gloves and a mask at all times), and work in extreme temperatures. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position - days, nights, and weekends are required

Education and Experience:

Minimum of one-year produce stock, or natural food retail experience - preferred

Knowledge of specialty foods, especially produce - preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Shift:

· 8 hour shift

· Day shift

· Night shift

Weekly day range:

· Monday to Friday

· Weekends as needed
