Producer

Full-Time Contract Position

WMDT-TV is seeking a full-time Producer to join our news team. The best candidate will be a community-minded, strong storyteller with the ability to multi-task and work hands-on with multiple newsroom partners in broadcast news.

Responsibilities:

- Create, gather, and organize local, regional, and national content, coordinating with reporters throughout the day.

- Assemble and stack daily rundown in ENPS for live broadcast.

- Coordinate with studio crew and line-produce broadcast, cueing live shots and accounting for good sound and lighting.

- Generate and research leads for potential news stories.

- Proficient using wire services; build affiliate relationships for content sharing.

Degree in Journalism or Communication preferred but will consider related experience. Strong communication skills are required. Must be flexible with schedule. Knowledge of AP-ENPS and Wire Services preferred but will train the right individual.

Three-year contract: Wage range: Y1 $32,000, Y2 $33,000, Y3 $35,000/year, minimum 40/hrs. week, overtime possible.
