Job Purpose

To ensure that the hotels asset is maintained, any preventative care is provided for plant and engineering aspects. All mechanical, electrical and plant equipment is kept in good working order.

Functional Accountabilities

• Achieves optimal operating efficiency by closely adhering to procedures detailed in the technical maintenance manual
• Manage facility operations, energy consumption, and maintenance of the facilities infrastructure & building
• Analyse and monitors POMEC operations and expenditures of the hotel
• Receive and analyse feedback information from other administration departments in his hotel for recommending to the Director new policies and procedures for economical operation and maintenance
• Manage work order and effectively scheduling tasks and tracking
• Manage all Preventive corrective and predictive maintenance of the property and assets
• Plan and oversee renovations and construction
• Act fast to resolve emergency issues
• Lead, motivate and monitor a team to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all plant and equipment
• Ensure Engineering team are trained and competent for operations and maintenance of the building
• Maintain budgets, expenses and activity logs
• Providing functional assistance and direction to engineering personnel
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
• Deliver excellent guest service
• Aware of and adhere to the Fire and Life Safety standards of the Company ensuring to report any risks to Management
• Any other duties, which may be assigned to you from time to time as directed

Experience and Technical Knowledge

• Experience in Facility Management, particularly within 5-star hotel environments, would be an advantage
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with 5 years’ experience of which 2 years should be as Producer Engineering in a 5 star hotel
• Has a knowledge of and operate hotel security and emergency procedures
• Proactive, quick thinking and adept at identifying and fixing maintenance issues
• Ability to build good relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective outcomes for the business
• Ability to work well under pressure
• A team player, working hand in hand with other departments
