Position Summary
We are looking for a Product Content & Merchandising Specialist to own how our products are presented online and in print. This person will create compelling product content, improve product pages, optimize product listings for search and conversion, manage product data, and help customers understand why Shocker Hitch products are different. This role combines writing, merchandising, SEO, and product storytelling.
You will work closely with marketing, engineering, sales, customer service, and operations to ensure our product information is accurate, compelling, and drives sales.
Key Responsibilities
Product Content Creation
- Write and maintain product descriptions for all Shocker Hitch products.
- Create feature- and benefit-focused product content.
- Translate technical specifications into customer-friendly language.
- Write Amazon product titles, bullet points, descriptions, and A+ content.
- Create category page content and buying guides.
- Develop FAQs based on customer questions and support inquiries.
- Write comparison content between product models.
- Create installation, setup, and usage content.
Website Merchandising
- Manage product presentation across all sales channels, including: Website, Amazon, Dealer portals, Online marketplaces
- Optimize product pages for conversion and customer experience.
- Recommend improvements to product organization, navigation, and user experience.
- Improve cross-sell, upsell, and related product opportunities.
- Ensure products are accurately categorized and merchandised.
SEO & Organic Traffic Growth
- Perform keyword research to identify growth opportunities.
- Optimize product and category pages for search engines.
- Identify content opportunities to increase organic traffic.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on blog content and educational resources.
- Monitor search rankings and recommend improvements.
Product Information Management
- Ensure product information is accurate and consistent across all channels.
- Manage product images, videos, PDFs, and supporting assets.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations on product updates and changes.
- Support pricing updates, new product launches, and product lifecycle management.
Product Literature & Documentation
Assist with:
- Product instructions
- Installation guides
- Product catalogs
- Dealer materials
- Trade show materials
- Product comparison charts
Customer Insight & Research
- Analyze customer reviews, feedback, and support inquiries.
- Identify common customer questions and pain points.
- Improve content based on customer needs and buying behavior.
- Research competitors, products, and industry trends.
- Recommend new content, merchandising, and product presentation opportunities.
Success Looks Like
Within 12 Months:
- Every major product page contains best-in-class content.
- Organic website traffic increases.
- Product page conversion rates improve.
- Amazon listings outperform key competitors.
- Product information remains accurate and consistent across all channels.
- Customers can easily understand product differences, features, and benefits.
- Product launch content is completed accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of ecommerce, content writing, merchandising, product marketing, or related experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to simplify technical information for customers.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with product data and spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
- E-commerce experience.
- Amazon listing experience.
- SEO experience.
- Experience with WooCommerce, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, or similar platforms.
- Experience in automotive, towing, agriculture, manufacturing, powersports, RV, or trailer-related industries.
