Product Design Analyst (Bags/Luggage)

We are hiring for the role of industrial/technical product design analyst specializing in bags and luggage to transform our innovative backpack concepts into professional sketches, 3D models/wireframes, detailed design iterations, and full tech packs that can be handed off to manufacturers for prototyping and sampling.

You'll be responsible for creating comprehensive technical packages that manufacturers can use to produce accurate prototypes and samples.

You should be able to balance creativity with technical feasibility—understanding when a design looks great on paper but won’t work in reality, and adapting it accordingly.

Key responsibilities:

Collaborate to refine the overall design vision, silhouette, and architecture of products.

Create sketches, mockups, and CAD/3D models to visualize concepts.

Create detailed technical drawings, including rough sketches, multiple views, cross-sections, and exploded diagrams.

Produce complete tech packs including:

Dimensional specifications and tolerances

Materials and hardware specifications (fabrics, zippers, buckles, foam, webbing)

Construction details and assembly sequences

Pattern pieces and cutting layouts

Stitching specifications and seam allowances

Color/finish callouts (Pantone references, etc.)

Consider ergonomics, weight distribution, practical usability, and user comfort in all designs

Present designs and reports to team members, seniors, and manufacturers for approval, and discuss the need for modification.

Evaluate the feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.

Read relevant design publications, attend exhibitions, and related shows to understand the changing trends and build back into design work.

Continuously keep tabs on competition products, design styles, trends consumer influences to build back in highly competitive designs for the company.

Research, understand, and collaborate with factory teams on implementing new technology to enable cutting-edge design output.

Understand the principles of target costing and align with design and it's feature value equations.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience designing soft goods or hardshell luggage products.

Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Rhino/SolidWorks/Blender, Keyshot)

Strong understanding of hardshell and soft goods construction, materials, hardware components, sewing techniques, and manufacturing processes

Experience creating tech packs that manufacturers can follow without confusion

Portfolio/examples demonstrating bag designs that made it to production, especially including tech packs or manufacturing documentation

You should have all the necessary equipment: high-speed internet connection, computer with good configuration, headphones with mic, design software, and familiarity with Slack, online video meetings, and voice calls.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month

Expected hours: No less than 22 per week
