This position will be a stipend-based , full-time, 6 -month internship.

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll do everything that a product designer does. Here's everything you will be doing -

  • Dive deep into user research - conducting interviews, surveys, and usability testing with interns, companies, and supervisors
  • Spend hours mapping user journeys and identifying friction points across our global platform
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that solve real user problems
  • Collaborate daily with product managers and engineers to ship features that matter
  • Analyze user behavior data to understand what's working and what needs improvement
  • Design for multiple stakeholders - students, companies, supervisors, and universities
  • Participate in design critiques and iterate based on feedback (lots of feedback!)
  • Maintain and evolve our design system to ensure consistency across platforms
  • Learn to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Get hands-on experience designing for a real product used by thousands of students worldwide
  • Own actual features from research to launch - this isn't just concept work
  • Learn our entire design process, including how we balance competing user needs
  • Build a portfolio of real product design work that you can showcase to future employers
  • Understand how a fast-growing startup makes design decisions at scale
  • Develop skills in user research, prototyping, and design systems that are highly valued in the industry
  • Join a supportive team that wants you to succeed and grow
  • Get detailed feedback on your work, helping you improve rapidly
  • See the direct impact of your designs as students land life-changing internships through better user experiences
  • See how great products are actually designed, one user interview, one prototype, and one usability test at a time
  • Most importantly, you'll learn to design for global diversity - creating experiences that work across cultures, languages, and contexts

Who We're Looking For

Technical Skills You'll Need 🔧

  • You're proficient in Figma for design and prototyping
  • You can create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that clearly communicate your ideas
  • You understand basic design principles - typography, color theory, layout, and accessibility
  • You're familiar with design systems and component libraries (or ready to learn fast)
  • You can analyze user data and translate insights into design decisions
  • You understand responsive design and how to design for multiple screen sizes
  • You're ready to learn about our tech stack to understand implementation constraints
  • You can present your design thinking clearly to stakeholders across the organization

The Right Mindset 🌟

  • You get excited about solving complex user problems that span multiple user types
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements as we learn more about our users
  • You believe great design is invisible - it just works seamlessly for users
  • You're ready to handle feedback and iterate repeatedly on your designs
  • You have the persistence to dig deep into user problems and find elegant solutions
  • You can balance creativity with practical constraints
  • You're excited about both the big picture user experience AND the tiny interaction details
  • You can manage your time effectively across multiple projects and deadlines
  • You're committed to showing up 30-35 hours every week, ready to learn and contribute

You stand out from the crowd if:

  • You have experience building EdTech products for global students
  • You have worked at a Series A or Series B scaleup

Consider this our wish-list. We know there will be great candidates that don't meet every one of these criteria—if you're passionate about the role and have early-stage startup experience, we'd still love to hear from you.
