Hiring for Product Designer - Handicrafts & Hard Goods

About the Role

We are looking for a creative Designer with expertise in handicrafts and hard goods made from metal, wood, marble, felt, ceramic, and lakh. The role covers designing innovative home décor, kitchenware, tabletop products, and seasonal collections (Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s, Fall décor) for international buyers.

Responsibilities

• Research global trends, colors, and materials relevant to handicrafts & hard goods.
• Develop product concepts, sketches, CAD/3D visuals, and mood boards.
• Design seasonal/festive ranges (Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s, Fall).
• Work with merchandising & production teams for prototypes and samples.
• Select appropriate raw materials, finishes, and techniques.
• Refine designs based on buyer feedback and ensure quality compliance.
• Support business development with buyer presentations and exhibitions.

Requirements

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Product Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or related field.
• 3–5 years’ design experience in an export house (handicrafts/hard goods).
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, AutoCAD/3D software.
• Strong creativity, trend forecasting, and visualization skills.
• Knowledge of materials: metal, wood, marble, felt, ceramic, lakh.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.
