Product Designer

Role Description

As a Product Designer at NorthLadder, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our marketplace, tasked with crafting user-centric solutions that enhance our marketplace's usability, accessibility, and engagement. This role calls for a blend of creative vision and practical design skills, focusing on delivering seamless user experiences that align with our mission to revolutionize the trade-in market. Working alongside our engineering, product management, and marketing teams, you will drive the design process from ideation to launch, championing innovation and design excellence at every step.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of intuitive, user-centric products and features, enhancing the overall experience of our marketplace.
• Employ a blend of interaction design, visual design, and prototyping skills to create innovative solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights, inform design decisions, and continuously refine our products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, and ensure design vision is executed accurately throughout the development process.
• Advocate for design best practices and maintain a high standard for aesthetics and user experience across all product touchpoints.
• Keep abreast of the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, applying new methodologies to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio that showcases a deep understanding of design principles and user-centered solutions.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Principle, or ProtoPie.
• Exceptional skills in both interaction and visual design, with an ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive designs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in remote teams.
• A track record of leading design projects from conception to completion, demonstrating strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Experience working in a remote, distributed team environment is highly desirable.
• Experience in the retail or e-commerce sector is a plus.
