Role: Product Designer / Industrial Designer — Glass Manufacturing Focus
Location: Remote/Hybrid (India preferred) + Regular travel to Delhi (factory visits)
Type: Full-time
Experience: 3–8+ years (flexible for strong portfolio)
About the Role
We’re looking for a product designer who can develop specialty glass consumer products from concept to production, with a strong understanding of glass manufacturing and the realities of making consistent, repeatable parts at scale.
We’re building a new generation of safe, reliable, premium glass products for the legal cannabis market.
What You’ll Do
Product Design + Glass Manufacturing Collaboration
- Own product development from concept → CAD → prototyping → production-ready specs
- Spend time on-site in Delhi to understand:
- What’s feasible (and what’s not) with our glass processes and equipment
- Typical tolerances, failure points, yield considerations, and QC standards
- Design with glass constraints in mind (examples):
- Wall thickness consistency, internal geometry feasibility, stress points
- Annealing considerations, thermal shock durability, and crack-risk design choices
- Cold-working/finishing requirements (polishing, grinding, fire-polish, etc.)
- Run iteration cycles based on factory feedback and prototype reviews
Clear Direction for 3D Artists + Cross-Functional Teams
- Produce high-clarity design packages for 3D artists and visualization teams, including:
- Clean CAD files (STEP/IGES) + dimensioned drawings
- Exploded views, section cuts, and key measurements
- Surface/finish callouts and material references
- “What matters most” priorities (critical dimensions, visual focal areas, tolerance-sensitive zones)
- Collaborate with production, QC, and merchandising teams to ensure designs match real constraints and timelines
(Optional) Packaging Design
- If you have packaging experience: contribute to structural packaging and production-ready files
- Dielines, inserts, protection strategy, unboxing flow, vendor coordination
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing physical consumer products, ideally with at least 1–2 shipped products
- Strong knowledge of glass manufacturing (handmade or industrial) and a desire to learn deeply on the factory floor
- Ability to create production-ready design documentation:
- 3D CAD + dimensioned 2D drawings/spec sheets
- Strong communication skills—able to give 3D artists extremely clear instructions and iterate quickly
- Comfortable traveling to Delhi to work directly with production teams and review prototypes
Nice to Have
- Packaging design (structural packaging, dielines, inserts, protective design)
- Experience working with cross-border vendors/manufacturing teams
- Familiarity with brand/CMF thinking (color/finish/decoration), and how those choices affect yield and cost
- Experience setting up repeatable product “systems” (size families, modular components, shared parts)
Tools (Flexible — list what you use)
- Designing on an Ipad
- CAD: SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Rhino (or equivalent)
- Documentation: production drawings, spec sheets, and design handoff packages
- Collaboration: Figma / Notion / Google Suite / Jira (or equivalent)
Travel Expectation
- You should be able to travel to Delhi as needed for factory immersion, prototype reviews, and production ramp support.(Example: a few days per month during active development, more during prototyping/build phases.)
How to Apply
- Resume / LinkedIn
- Portfolio (PDF or link) showing real manufactured products
- A short note answering:
- Your experience with glass manufacturing (what processes you’ve worked with)
- Your comfort level traveling to Delhi for factory work
- An example of how you communicate specs/requirements to 3D artists
