Product Designer- Lighting

Job Summary:

The Lighting Product Designer combines artistic creativity with technical expertise to design decorative lamps and lighting products for the home. This role also involves creating both computer-generated and hand-generated artwork and content to be applied to these products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Create product designs that meet project requirements and clients’ unique needs

· Develop artwork and surface designs in alignment with client specifications and industry trends

· Maintain accurate and detailed product specifications and documentation

· Present and discuss design concepts with clients

· Collaborate with overseas teams to coordinate product sampling and pricing

· Participate in multi-stage design revisions and approval processes through final production

· Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Strong artistic and design capabilities

· High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

· Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite

· Ability to create repeat patterns for surface applications

· Solid understanding of visual trends, color palettes and patterns

· Interest in and ability to utilize AI tools for generating image and product concepts

· Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

· Basic mathematical skills, including fractions and ruler measurements

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Effective time management and planning abilities

· Adaptability and ability to respond to changing priorities

Education and Experience:

· Degree or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred

· 1 – 5 years of experience in design field preferred

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (7+ hours daily)

· Ability to stand for 1–3 hours daily as needed

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds periodically

· Occasional travel within a 20-mile radius

· Occasional longer-distance travel, including overnight stays, for trade shows or client meetings

· Possible exposure to odors from paints and chemicals; protective equipment may be required

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
