Big Box Retailer lnc. (BBR) a leading candle design company is seeking a bright, energetic, self-starter for a Product Development Assistant position. We are looking for a professional, detail oriented individual who can multi-task and has exceptional organizational and computer skills to support Product Development Manager and act as a liaison between Account Executives and clients when appropriate. Must be capable of multi-tasking for a variety of personalities in a lively fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop product presentations in a professional and effective method, including maintaining up-to date awareness of company activities and industry trends for accounts assigned.
- Undertaking general administrative tasks for the product development team.
- Take requests for. and follow up on, samples for key accounts, Monitor the production of account samples, implement data entry for Pl sheets, implementation of account orders and shipping information.
- Work in partnership with Merchandising Executives and Design to ensure product development incorporates customer needs fulfilling assortment gaps, emerging trends and actual sales performance at retail.
- Liaising with suppliers on new product development to ensure deadlines are met
- Attend trade shows and related events
- Undertaking administrative tasks as and when needed to support the wider production team. The Product Development Assistant will report to the Product Manager working under his/her direction through a specific training period. A weekly, written update from the Product Executive recapping the progress, activity and events from the previous week will be required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of how CAD design works is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with a wide variety of people, and a truly professional approach.
- Demonstrates competitiveness, strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Able to clearly present product information in an enticing format.
- Ability to build consumer understanding of our product and company image.
- Strong understanding of full life cycle design process, from concept to commercialization
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Art Background is preferred.
- Mandarin Preferred.
Work Schedule, Compensation
- This is a full-time, exempt position
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 am-5:30 pm, may vary according to needs of sales events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
