Product Development Associate

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Product Development Associate with strong communication skills and graphic design capabilities to support our growing product lines. This role will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional partners to bring innovative, Indigenous Designed products to market.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Design

  • Partner with the Creative Director to conceptualize and realize new products and seasonal collections
  • Conduct market research on trends in design, color, materials, and competitor products
  • Assist in developing mockups, mood boards, colorways, and detailed tech packs
  • Create and adapt artwork for a variety of products in collaboration with Indigenous artists
  • Ensure designs meet both the artist’s intent and our production standards
  • Support packaging design, product refinement, and the overall development process

Graphic Design & Brand Support

  • Use graphic design skills to support design communication to vendors and artist collaborators
  • Maintain brand consistency across all visual assets and product designs
  • Work on special design projects that reflect Eighth Generation’s brand identity and values

Vendor Relations & Sourcing

  • Communicate with domestic and international vendors on artwork, materials, and production
  • Support the sourcing of new vendors and maintain current supplier relationships
  • Evaluate samples for quality and accuracy, and deliver clear, constructive feedback to vendors

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in product development, graphic design, or a related field
  • Strong visual communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated sensitivity when working with Indigenous artists and cultural content
  • Portfolio of recent graphic design work is required with application

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
