Our flagship platform, Trident, integrates AIS, Radar, SAR, EO/IR and other sensor streams to deliver real-time maritime domain awareness for defence, fisheries, ports, and commercial operators.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Manager who acts as the bridge between product, customers, and engineering teams. This role focuses on owning delivery, driving execution, and translating client and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

You will work closely with clients, founders, and internal engineering teams to ensure that complex systems are designed, built, and delivered reliably in real operational environments.

This is a hands-on leadership role, but with stronger emphasis on product thinking, coordination, and execution rather than day-to-day coding.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership & Client Interaction

• Act as the primary technical interface for clients and internal stakeholders
• Understand operational use-cases and translate them into clear, actionable requirements
• Participate in client discussions, demos, requirement clarifications, and feedback cycles
• Ensure customer expectations are aligned with technical feasibility and delivery timelines

2. Requirements Translation & System Design

• Convert product and operational requirements into high-level system designs and execution plans
• Define functional and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, scalability)
• Work with architects and engineers to validate design choices and trade-offs
• Ensure solutions align with long-term platform roadmap

3. SDLC Ownership & Delivery Management

• Own the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) — planning, execution, testing, deployment, and support
• Break down large initiatives into clear milestones, deliverables, and tasks
• Define sprint goals, release plans, and delivery timelines
• Ensure quality, stability, and production-readiness before releases

4. Task Delegation & Team Coordination

• Assign and prioritize work across backend, data, and DevOps teams
• Guide engineers with clear problem statements, acceptance criteria, and timelines
• Review designs and implementations at a high level to ensure alignment
• Unblock teams by resolving dependencies, clarifying requirements, and escalating risks early

5. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Track progress across multiple workstreams and ensure predictable delivery
• Monitor risks, dependencies, and technical debt
• Provide regular status updates to founders and stakeholders
• Ensure issues are identified early and addressed proactively

6. Technical Oversight (Leadership Level)

• Provide architectural guidance across streaming, backend services, data storage, and infrastructure
• Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and suitable for on-premise deployments
• Enforce engineering best practices, documentation standards, and operational readiness
• Support production incidents, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10+ years of experience in software engineering or technical leadership roles
• Proven experience owning delivery of complex software systems
• Strong ability to translate business and client requirements into technical execution
• Experience working with backend systems, data pipelines, and distributed platforms (at design/oversight level)
• Solid understanding of SDLC, agile execution, and release management
• Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams
• Strong communication skills — able to work with engineers, founders, and clients alike
• Experience working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Technical Background (Preferred)

(Hands-on expertise not mandatory, but strong familiarity expected)

• Streaming & data systems (e.g., Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink, or similar)
• Backend services and APIs (FastAPI, Python, Java, Scala, etc.)
• Databases such as MongoDB, ClickHouse, or other large-scale data stores
• Containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
• On-prem or hybrid infrastructure environments

Nice to Have

• Exposure to maritime, defence, geospatial, or sensor-driven systems
• Experience working on operational or mission-critical platforms
• Prior role as a Tech Lead, Delivery Lead, or Engineering Manager in deep-tech products

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹1,600,000.00 - ₹2,200,000.00 per year
