1. About the Role

The Product Manager – Lubricated Compressors will play a pivotal role in shaping ELGi’s global product roadmap for oil-lubricated air compressors. The role focuses on understanding customer needs, industry trends, and competition insights to drive new product development and enhancement of existing portfolios. You will act as the global expert for assigned product lines, partnering closely with regional teams, engineering, R&D, aftermarket, marketing, and sales to deliver compelling product propositions. This role also ensures successful product launches, supports opportunity assessment, and drives initiatives that enhance product value, profitability, and market competitiveness across global markets.


2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, application, and competition studies to identify new product opportunities and evaluate technical and commercial feasibility.
  • Support creation and execution of the global product roadmap for lubricated compressors, addressing portfolio gaps and enabling competitive advantage.
  • Capture Voice of Customer (VoC) and benchmark competition to define product specifications, positioning, and pricing.
  • Develop business cases including revenue potential, ROI, and value propositions for leadership approval.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration for new product initiation, development, and launch readiness.
  • Prepare and support sales enablement materials—catalogues, product flyers, pitch decks, and online tools.
  • Partner with product training and marketing communication teams to ensure high-quality training content and product promotions.
  • Provide timely support for non-standard product inquiries and engineering solutions.
  • Monitor product performance vs. business projections, analyse lost orders, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in product lifecycle management, systems, and processes.


3. Skills & Experience Required

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering; MBA in Marketing/Sales preferred.
  • 7–10 years’ experience in product management, engineering, or sales of industrial equipment (compressors preferred).
  • Strong market research, analytical and business acumen.
  • Strategic thinking with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills across global teams.
  • Experience in product development, business analysis, pricing, or competitive benchmarking.
  • Willingness to travel (25–50%) and work with diverse global teams.
