Product Research Analyst

Role Overview

The Market & Product Intelligence Analyst supports JazzX's product and go-to-market efforts through structured market research, competitive analysis, and industry intelligence. This role focuses on understanding the residential mortgage technology landscape, lender segments, and emerging trends—particularly at the intersection of financial services and AI.

The Analyst works closely with Product, Go-To-Market, and Strategy stakeholders to deliver insights that inform product strategy, positioning, and investment decisions. This is a research- and analysis-focused role designed for someone who enjoys turning complex market information into clear, actionable insights.

Core Responsibilities

Market & Industry Research

• Conduct ongoing research on the residential mortgage industry, including market structure, key segments, and evolving lender needs.
• Analyze market trends related to origination volumes, regulatory changes, operational challenges, and technology adoption.
• Support market sizing, segmentation, and prioritization exercises to inform go-to-market strategy.

Competitive Intelligence

• Track and analyze competitors across mortgage technology, fintech, and AI-driven workflow solutions.
• Develop and maintain competitive profiles covering product capabilities, positioning, pricing signals, and go-to-market approaches.
• Monitor product launches, partnerships, acquisitions, and strategic shifts among competitors.
• Support creation of competitive briefings, summaries, and internal reference materials.
• Support ad hoc research requests from Product, Strategy, and GTM leadership.

Target Market & Customer Analysis

• Research current and prospective lender customers, including banks, credit unions, non-bank lenders, and mortgage servicers.
• Develop profiles of target accounts and market segments to support sales and GTM planning.
• Analyze customer buying behavior, technology stacks, and vendor ecosystems.
• Support account-based research for strategic sales and partnership opportunities.

Technology & Innovation Trends

• Research technology trends impacting mortgage and financial services, including AI, automation, data platforms, and decisioning systems.
• Identify relevant innovations from adjacent industries that could inform JazzX's product direction.
• Track regulatory and compliance developments that influence technology adoption.
• Contribute to internal thought leadership on mortgage and AI trends.

Go-To-Market & Strategy Support

• Provide analytical support for go-to-market strategy, including market comparisons, positioning inputs, and opportunity assessments.
• Assist with development of internal strategy decks, briefing documents, and executive summaries.
• Help synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into clear recommendations.
• Assist with preparation for customer meetings, executive briefings, and internal strategy materials.

Knowledge Management & Insight Sharing

• Maintain organized repositories of research, competitive insights, and market data.
• Establish repeatable research frameworks and reporting cadences.
• Proactively surface emerging risks, opportunities, and market signals to Product leadership.
• Collaborate with product managers to validate assumptions and test market hypotheses.

Qualifications

Experience

• 2–5+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, strategy analysis, consulting, or a related analytical role.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or enterprise software is preferred.
• Exposure to mortgage, lending, or banking domains is a strong plus but not required.

Skills & Capabilities

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise insights.
• Excellent written communication skills and comfort creating clear, structured documents and presentations.
• Familiarity with market research methods, competitive analysis frameworks, and data sources.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple research streams in parallel.
• Curiosity and interest in technology, AI, and evolving enterprise software markets.

Tools & Technical Skills

• Proficiency with standard research and analysis tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, document tools).
• Experience using market research platforms, databases, or industry publications is a plus.
• Comfort working with qualitative and quantitative data.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required.
• Advanced degree is a plus.
