Product Research & Trend Forecasting Intern - Fashion & Apparel

Job Expired

About the Company

We are a Lahore-based fashion and apparel eCommerce startup building a modern DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) brand targeting Pakistan and the GCC market. Our current product lines are women’s western fusion. We are AI-first in our operations, use data to drive every decision, and are building a brand that competes on curation, aesthetics, and customer experience rather than price.

What You’ll Do

You will be the fashion brain of the company, responsible for ensuring we are always selling what customers want next, not what was trending last year/month/week. This is a hands-on role where your fashion knowledge directly impacts what we buy, how we style it, and how we present it to customers.

  • Research and identify emerging fashion trends relevant to our product categories across global and Pakistan/GCC markets.
  • Create weekly trend reports with actionable sourcing recommendations: specific styles, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes to buy on our next market visit.
  • Build mood boards and visual direction for each product drop and seasonal collection using Pinterest, Midjourney, and Canva etc.
  • Accompany on sourcing trips to Market locations. Advise on which specific products to select based on trend alignment and brand positioning.
  • Conduct competitive visual analysis: monitor what emerging Instagram brands are doing. Identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Guide product photography styling: select outfits, suggest props, advise on color coordination and layout for social media-worthy shots.
  • Develop seasonal color palettes aligned with global trend forecasts (Pantone, WGSN summaries, Pinterest Predicts etc.).
  • Identify when a trend is peaking (time to exit and discount existing stock) vs. rising (time to invest and stock up).
  • Provide fabric and material recommendations: which fabrics work for which season, quality indicators to check, and what customers expect.
  • Collaborate with the social media team to ensure content reflects current trends and brand positioning.

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within 1 year) from Fashion Design, Textile Design, or Visual Communication from a reputable institution.
  • You understand color theory, silhouette trends, fabric properties, and seasonal fashion cycles.
  • You are active on social media as a consumer of fashion content. You follow global and local fashion accounts. Your personal aesthetic sense is strong.
  • You are comfortable using AI tools (or eager to learn) for trend analysis, and for mood boards and presentations.
  • You can articulate WHY something is trending, not just WHAT is trending. You understand proportions, drape, color psychology, and consumer behavior.
  • You are willing to visit markets to advise on sourcing.
  • You are reliable, communicate proactively, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Portfolio of mood boards, trend reports, or design projects from your coursework.
  • Personal fashion blog, Instagram page, or Pinterest boards with curated fashion content.
  • Experience with or knowledge of the fashion market (modest fashion, luxury streetwear, consumer preferences).
  • Basic pattern-making or garment construction knowledge (useful for future custom manufacturing phase).
  • Photography or styling skills.

What We Offer

  • Monthly stipend.
  • Real-world portfolio project: you’ll be building a brand from scratch, not filing papers. Every mood board, trend report, and collection plan goes in your portfolio.
  • Growth path: as the brand scales, this role grows into a full-time
  • Letter of recommendation and internship certificate upon completion.

How to Apply

Send the following to hr@tayfa.pk

1. Your CV or portfolio link (even a Pinterest board or Instagram page works).

2. A short note telling us: What’s one fashion trend in Pakistan right now that you think is underserved? Why?

3. Three photos of outfits you’ve styled or products you’d select for our brand (from any source).

Note: We don’t care about your GPA. We care about your fashion instinct, your visual eye, and your ability to turn trend knowledge into buying decisions.

Pay: Rs20,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lahore
