About The Role

As a Product Engineer (Frontend) at Cedar, you will own and build the user-facing experiences that define how customers understand, trust, and engage with our product. This is a high-agency role working closely with the Founding Senior Software Engineer, CEO, Product Manager, and Marketing to maximize the end-to-end client experience.

You will design and implement everything from D2C marketing pages to interactive mapping and financial tools that help homeowners and loan officers understand affordability, equity, and long-term wealth outcomes. This role is ideal for an engineer who moves comfortably between product thinking and execution, takes initiative without heavy process, and cares deeply about clarity, usability, and polish.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain marketing and product webpages that drive Cedar’s direct-to-consumer growth
• Collaborate closely with design, product, engineering, and marketing to deliver cohesive user experiences
• Develop interactive tools and calculators that help homeowners and loan officers visualize affordability, equity, and wealth scenarios
• Translate complex financial concepts into intuitive, trustworthy UI flows
• Own frontend features end-to-end, from concept through production
• Implement scalable frontend architecture that supports rapid iteration
• Optimize for performance, accessibility, and cross-device reliability
• Ship quickly, test with real users, and iterate based on feedback
  
  

What We Need

We are looking for a product-focused frontend engineer with strong execution skills and a high degree of agency who has operated effectively in fast-moving, early-stage environments. You should be comfortable taking broad objectives and turning them into shipped, high-quality user experiences, while working directly with senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

You bring good judgment around UX tradeoffs, performance, and maintainability, and you understand how early frontend decisions affect product quality and velocity over time. Experience building data-driven, logic-heavy interfaces—especially those that help users understand complex financial scenarios—is a strong plus.

Prior experience in fintech, prop-tech, mortgage, or other consumer financial products is highly valued, particularly where trust, clarity, and conversion matter.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of frontend or product engineering experience
• Strong experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks
• HubSpot, Webflow, and Vercel experience a plus
• Proven ability to build responsive, production-quality web applications
• Experience collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers
• Familiarity with data visualization, charts, or interactive tools
• Ideally some mortgage, MLS, or FinTech/Prop-Tech experience
