Day shift - 8 am - 5 pm

Columbus, OH


Position Summary:

This position is responsible for directing production and logistics operations within the assigned business unit, ensuring alignment with the quality management system, customer requirements, and Schnellecke Logistics standards.


The Production and Logistics Manager will lead operational teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while supporting the strategic goals of Schnellecke Logistics and maintaining strong customer partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards of Schnellecke Logistics to achieve company objectives.
  • Lead daily production and logistics operations to ensure service levels and customer requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and foster a safety-first culture within the operation.
  • Manage operational resources (human, material, and equipment) to support production plans and meet volume requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI monitoring, reporting, and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborate with VW customer counterparts to align on forecasts, capacity planning, and service performance.
  • Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5 Why, PDCA, Gemba).
  • Optimize material flow, warehouse management, and inventory control processes.
  • Authorize operational expenditures within approved budget guidelines.
  • Develop supervisors and frontline leaders to ensure performance accountability and succession planning.
  • Prepare and present performance reports to senior management.
  • Assist with budget planning and cost-control initiatives.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by senior leadership.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
  • OR equivalent operational leadership experience (5+ years)
  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or high-volume logistics environment preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing multi-shift operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with SAP or Warehouse Management Systems preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred


Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in both plant and office environments.
  • Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, warehouse equipment, and vibration.
  • Exposure to occasionally loud noise levels.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Bending and/or reaching may be required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the shop floor to prevent injury to oneself or others.
