The Role We're looking for a Graphic Designer (in the Baytown Area) to join our production team in Baytown, TX. This is a production art role. You will prepare files for sign fabrication, setting up layouts, cleaning up artwork, and making sure everything is correct before it goes to our printers, cutters, routers, and engravers.

To be clear, this is not a creative agency position. You are not designing logos or building brand campaigns. You are taking orders and artwork and turning them into print-ready, cut-ready, and engrave-ready files that our equipment can run accurately. The work is straightforward, but it has to be right. A wrong dimension or a missed detail means a sign gets remade, and that is not how we operate.

You should know your way around Adobe Illustrator. That is the primary tool for this role, with some Photoshop as needed. If you don't have deep experience but you are genuinely comfortable in Illustrator and willing to learn, we will work with you.

What will set the right person apart is an interest in the production side of what we do. Our shop runs large format printers, vinyl cutters, CNC routers, and engraving equipment. You don't need to know how to operate any of it on day one, but if you are the kind of person who wants to understand how your files become finished signs, you will do well here and you will grow fast. If you just want to sit at a screen and never think about what happens after you hit save, this is probably not the right fit.

What You Will Do

• Prepare production-ready files for printing, cutting, routing, and engraving
• Set up layouts with correct dimensions, bleeds, and material specifications
• Clean up and adjust customer-supplied artwork as needed
• Work closely with the production team to ensure files are accurate and ready to run
• Learn our equipment and production processes so your file prep improves over time
• Maintain organized file management and follow naming conventions
• Assist with other design tasks for web or internal use as needed

What You Bring

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (this is the primary tool you will use every day)
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
• An understanding of file setup for print and cut production (or a willingness to learn)
• An interest in manufacturing, equipment, and how things are made
• Attention to detail. In production art, close enough is not good enough.
• Strong communication and the ability to work closely with a small team
• A self-starter mindset. Once you understand what needs to be done, you move on it.
• Experience in signage, printing, or a similar production environment is a plus, but not required. We will train the right person.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
