Production Artist / Virtual Proofer

JOB DESCRIPTION
The position available at G&M Printwear will have two roles, production artist and virtual proof artist both requiring graphic design skills. G&M Printwear does commercial custom screen printing on apparel for marketing companies, ad specialty companies and the public. Both the production artist and virtual proof artist roles are technical and very detail oriented.

REQUIREMNTS
2 years experience and must be proficient with the following software: (applicants will be tested)
-Adobe Illustrator
-Adobe Photoshop
-Windows 10/11
-MS Outlook and Web Based Email

Applicants should have an understanding of the difference between vector art and raster art and how those formats apply to real world printing.

You must be a team player. Team work is essential. Printing t-shirts is a multifaceted process where an order goes through customer service, proofing, production art, pre-press, blanks check-in, press, packing and shipping. We all need to work together to produce a quality product for our clients.

PRODUCTION ARTIST ROLE
A production artist's responsibilities consists of prepping client's vector art for printing within our set guidelines. Production artist's work is technical not creative. Good production artists quickly and consistently produce high volumes of press art files that follow our strict guidelines. They work closely with pressman and pre-press to solve printing problems. You will be working with an experienced team of artists and customer service representatives. This team strives to service the needs of the production facility and G&M's clients.

VIRTUAL PROOF ARTIST ROLE
Virtual proofing is exactly what it sounds like. Creating proofs of prints on apparel for clients to approve. The end product is a PDF created from a template system that our clients can view and forward to their clients. These proofs must be detailed with print sizing, placement, colors and apparel specifications. Becoming familiar with the many different styles of apparel is essential to becoming a good proof artist. Attention to detail is crucial.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
