Wag’n Tails is looking for an experienced Mill Room Associate to join our team. The Mill Room Production Associate plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing and upfit processes for mobile units by producing high‑quality wood composite parts and assemblies. This role is responsible for accurately cutting, prepping, and assembling components using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and saw equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in a mill or fabrication environment, and the ability to create consistent kits and parts to meet the needs of multiple production models.

What You'll Do:
Material Preparation & Cutting
- Operate saws (table saw, miter saw, panel saw, etc.) to cut wood composite materials to specified measurements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, and cut lists.
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials with precision to minimize waste and ensure consistency.
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and accuracy.
Assembly & Fabrication
- Assemble small components and sub‑assemblies according to production specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools (drills, sanders, routers, nail guns, etc.) safely and effectively.
- Build and prepare finished kits for various mobile unit models.
- Perform basic finishing work such as sanding, shaping, and edge preparation.
Quality & Production Support
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all production runs and kit builds.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet specifications and standards.
- Label, package, and organize components for efficient movement to the production floor.
- Communicate effectively with production leads and team members regarding inventory needs, shortages, or discrepancies.
Safety & Equipment Maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE at all times.
- Conduct routine cleaning and upkeep of tools, saws, and work areas.
- Report equipment issues promptly and assist with basic troubleshooting.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience in millwork, woodworking, carpentry, fabrication, or similar manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and saw operation.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, measurements, and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Team‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.
- Physically able to stand, bend, and work with small components for full shift (8 hours per day).
- Able to team lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
- Takes pride in building reliable electrical systems that power mobile pet care units.
