The Production Planner is responsible for the overall planning and control of production in a fast-paced work environment. This person will ensure that appropriate amounts and types of materials are available for work orders released, based on a production schedule. This person will maintain appropriate inventory levels to maintain company objectives and meet sales demand.
Duties
Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement in the production cycle to ensure continuous operations.
Track material shortages and provide immediate resolution or alternate solutions.
Communicate with the purchasing department to notify the supplier of shortages or changes to demand.
Monitor inventory status and generate inventory reports to the Production Control Supervisor.
Generate reports on production shortages and sales impact to the Production Control Supervisor
Address customer service queries and concerns in a timely fashion.
Review MRP settings and adjust accordingly to meet demand, to ensure data is properly maintained.
Review production schedule with production managers to ensure timely completion of products and identify shortages.
Review and maintain production orders and plans.
Ensure Timely release and delivery of all production orders.
Work with Engineering on controlling inventory for part and material changes.
Ensure work orders are closed in a timely fashion.
Duties will require time on Shop floor.

Experience/Skills
Minimum 2 years experience in Production Planning
Experience in Seasonal operations a plus
Planning experience in Appliance or Metal Fabrication a plus
Strong organization and problem-solving skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have at a minimum an intermediate skill level with Excel and Outlook.
Must have ERP or MRP experience Manage 2000 ERP experience is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up skills
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to continually use a computer/calculator up to 75% of the day.
Education
High School or GED required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
