Production Control Trainee (Supply Chain)

JOB TITLE/LOCATION:
Production Control Trainee – Santa Ana, CA
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Materials Manager, the team of other Buyer / Planners, Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineers, and Operators in areas of responsibility.
  • Stock and non-stock order management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exercises a key role in accomplishing plant customer service and inventory objectives (Raw/WIP/Buffers/Bulk) through effective inventory management/materials planning for assigned commodities and operational schedules.
  • Works closely with suppliers to make sure supplier on-time is achieved. Able to foresee potential roadblocks and provide recommendations, solutions, or notify the manager.
  • Issues forecasts to selected vendors to assure reliable supply chain performance.
  • Provides assistance to all raw material/WIP warehousing and shipping/receiving functions as required.
  • Create shop orders and schedule work centers.
  • Provide shortage reports for areas of responsibility.
  • Reschedule orders (push in and out).
  • Review component inventory levels.
  • Run MRP and create purchase orders as well as invoice resolution.
  • Expedite orders with manufacturing/vendors.
  • React and manage quality issues with suppliers.
  • Work closely with Quality Department to review and disposition non-conforming material.
  • Report product line performance.
  • Communicate status of orders to the Customer Service Representative when requested.
  • Evaluate inventory turns on raw, WIP, and finished goods.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferably in Supply Chain/Operations Management.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferably in Supply Chain/Operations Management.
  • Be a highly motivated, self-starter who is capable of multitasking.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to handle fast paced working environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
  • Effective verbal and written skills.
  • Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities.
  • Verifiable history of customer focus.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Project Management skills.

Physical & Environmental Factors:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. Also, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status.
**Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Pay Range: $70,500 to $70,500 annually
