Production Designer
Reporting into: Executive Creative Director
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)
Your Role:
The Production Designer will be responsible for executing and adapting creative concepts into production-ready deliverables on the New York Lottery account and a broader list of clients across the portfolio. This role ensures that all creative outputs are consistent, accurate, and optimized for final production across print, digital, social, and out-of-home channels.
As a core member of the New York Lottery team, the Production Designer will partner closely with art directors, copywriters, producers, and project managers to uphold design excellence and brand consistency. This individual must bring a meticulous eye for detail, a deep understanding of production specifications, and the agility to adapt work across multiple platforms while maintaining creative integrity.
What You Do:
Design Execution & Production
- Translate creative layouts into polished, production-ready files across print, digital, social, and OOH channels.
- Adapt master designs into multiple formats, sizes, and localizations while ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
- Apply motion design and animation in After Effects, following approved design systems and brand motion principles to bring static assets to life.
- Produce final animated and static assets based on production and mechanical specifications across all formats and platforms.
- Explore and leverage available AI tools within the agency to streamline production workflows, enhance efficiency, and elevate creative output.
- Research emerging AI-driven design and production tools, sharing insights and best-practice recommendations with the broader team.
- Prepare and package final artwork for vendors, printers, and developers with precision and accuracy.
Quality Control & File Management
- Conduct thorough quality checks for typography, imagery, resolution, and formatting before release.
- Ensure all deliverables meet technical specifications (color profiles, bleeds, crop marks, aspect ratios, etc.).
- Maintain organized file structures, asset libraries, and version histories to support smooth workflow.
Collaboration & Workflow Integration
- Partner with Art Directors, Copywriters, Designers, and Producers to ensure creative concepts are faithfully executed.
- Work closely with Project Managers to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities across the portfolio.
Culture & Contribution
- Serve as a dedicated creative partner on the New York Lottery team, supporting high-quality output under fast-moving timelines.
- Bring a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset to cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of craft, consistency, and pride in final deliverables.
What You Bring:
- 1-2+ years of production design or studio design experience in an advertising or creative agency environment.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects required) and Figma.
- Experience building motion assets in After Effects, applying animation principles to type, layout, and design systems.
- Interest in and familiarity with AI-driven creative tools for image generation, design adaptation, and workflow automation.
- Working knowledge of design adaptation for both digital and print platforms.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to identify and correct visual and technical errors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills for working with creative and production teams.

Location:
McCann New York team members must reside in or be willing to relocate to the New York Tristate area unless otherwise agreed upon by their manager and McCann New York’s Human Resources team. McCann New York is a hybrid workplace with three days in-office per week.
Salary Range:
The salary for this role is $65,000. Salary ranges depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
