We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Production Designer & Brand Marketing Coordinator to join our collaborative team environment in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and creative sides of design, loves bringing branded products to life visually, and takes pride in making things look polished, accurate, and on-brand.

About the Role

This position plays an important role in both our day-to-day client production process and our internal marketing efforts.

The primary focus of the role is production design:

• creating promotional product virtuals and proofs
• preparing vendor-ready artwork
• maintaining brand consistency
• reviewing supplier proofs for accuracy
• organizing and managing client artwork files

In addition, this role supports our sales and marketing efforts by helping create:

• branded presentations
• product lookbooks
• self-promotional campaigns
• email marketing graphics
• e-store imagery
• social and digital assets

You’ll also have opportunities to contribute ideas for trend-forward self-promotions, branded collections, and retail-inspired merchandise concepts that showcase our company’s creative capabilities.

This is not a purely conceptual graphic design role. We are looking for someone who enjoys execution, problem-solving, collaboration, and working within real-world production limitations and timelines.

What You’ll Do

Production Design & Artwork Management

• Create polished promotional product virtuals/mockups for client presentations and approvals
• Prepare detailed art proofs with accurate logo sizing, placement, proportion, and color usage
• Build vendor-ready production files for screen print, embroidery, heat transfer, digital print, and other decoration methods
• Review supplier proofs carefully for accuracy and consistency before production
• Rebuild or clean up artwork/vector files as needed
• Maintain organized client artwork libraries, brand standards, and production assets
• Pull product templates and specifications from vendor websites
• Assist with troubleshooting artwork or production concerns with suppliers and internal team members
• Learn product decoration methods and understand production limitations across different substrates and materials

Product Visualization & Development

• Help visually develop custom product concepts with overseas and domestic manufacturing partners
• Create realistic virtual renderings and detailed product visuals for custom products and packaging concepts
• Assist with material/color coordination and physical sample review when needed

Marketing & Sales Support

• Design or refine sales presentations, lookbooks, and branded marketing materials
• Assist with self-promotional campaigns, HubSpot graphics, and email marketing visuals
• Create and organize imagery for company e-stores
• Photograph finished products and samples for internal marketing use
• Help merchandise and visually group products into cohesive collections or campaigns
• Support social and digital marketing initiatives as needed

Required Skills, Experience & Education

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (most important), Photoshop, and Acrobat
• Ability to create production-ready vector artwork
• Strong understanding of layout, proportion, typography, and visual hierarchy
• Experience preparing files for print or production
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadlines
• Strong organizational and file management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Canva, and Teams
• 2+ years of experience in graphic design, production art, print production, branded merchandise, apparel decoration, or a related field preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field is a plus, but equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered
• Strong portfolio demonstrating production design, layout, branding, or product visualization work preferred

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

• Promotional products industry experience
• Print shop, apparel decoration, sign shop, or production art experience
• Experience with embroidery, screen printing, or other decoration methods
• Product photography or styled content photography experience
• HubSpot, Mailchimp, or email marketing platforms
• E-store or Shopify-style platform experience
• Pantone color matching knowledge
• Product development or packaging design experience

This role is designed to be highly collaborative and hands-on. Team interaction, physical product reviews, sample evaluations, and in-person creative collaboration are important parts of the position, so regular in-office presence is expected.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and industry knowledge.

Typical compensation range for this role is approximately $22–$28/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
