Key Responsibilities –

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor daily production activities for GI sheet punching, bending, and fabrication processes.
  • Ensure production is carried out as per approved manufacturing drawings and process guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Factory Manager and team leaders/assembly team to maintain smooth workflow and on-time delivery.
  • Plan, schedule and arrange delivering of powder coating materials with proper segregation and identification.
  • Ensure the paint shade and coating thickness matching the specifications in coordination from QA/QC Team.
  • Ensure all components produced meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Implement in-process quality checks and corrective actions to minimize rework and material wastage.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure compliance with company and client specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process reliability.
  • Coordinate with the Assembly department for timely delivery of fabricated panels and components.
  • Communicate technical clarifications, design issues, or material shortages to relevant departments.
  • Support the logistics to ensure timely material availability and dispatch readiness.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with company safety procedures and HSE regulations.
  • Conduct or participate in daily toolbox talks and ensure safe work practices in Production/Fabrication area
  • Report unsafe acts, equipment defects, or near-misses promptly to the Factory In-Charge or HSE Officer.
  • Maintain daily production records, machine utilization logs, and manpower allocation reports.
  • Track and report production progress, delays, and quality deviations to management.
  • Assist in updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for key processes.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for production or quality issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Support cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on new fabrication technologies, tools, and methods relevant to switchgear manufacturing.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in switchgear factory as production engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving production and safety goals.
